Duane Cissna
Weekend Celebration Host

Duane grew up in the small agricultural community of Watsonville, California, As a teenager he attained Eagle Scout, played soprano clarinet in his high school Marching and Concert Band, and qualified as a clarinetist with both the California All-State Honor Band and "America's Youth in Concert," a national honor band that toured Europe.
He earned a BS degree in Business Administration - Accounting from San Jose State and now works as an accountant for a state agency.
Duane has lived in Stockton since 1983, and has been married to his wife Melany for 23 years. They have two girls who both attend Delta College.
He has been a volunteer at KYCC since June 1986, hosting the Saturday afternoon Weekend Celebration. Additionally, he assists with other production and hosting duties, including the annual New Year's Countdown show.
Duane has also been involved with the Stockton Civic Theater for the past nine years, playing musical or dramatic roles in ten different shows. He is also an occasional soloist with his church choir, directs a small a capella choir for special events, and works as a cameraman with his church's television crew.
If asked to name his favorite artist, Duane would be hard pressed to give you an answer. "It would be hard to choose," he says. "It has always been the groups with thick, rich harmony such as Go Fish, Glad, Selah, First Call, and the Gaither Vocal Band."
His favorite movie is White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. He is also an admitted Trekkie, his favorite Star Trek show being The Next Generation.
Duane's favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Duane says, "I know that whatever God has called me to do, He would not have called me to do it unless He provided the way for me to get it done."
