National Day of Prayer
KYCC Hosts Annual Prayer Gathering
The 57th Annual National Day of Prayer took place Thursday, May 1, 2008. Millions united in prayer as thousands of events took place from coast to coast. And KYCC hosted a prayer gathering honoring National Day of Prayer in Stockton, CA. The event took place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Dean DeCarli Waterfront Plaza, at 123 N. El Dorado Street and Weber Street in downtown Stockton.
KYCC Promotions Director John Ramos hosted the National Day of Prayer observance, which included worship led by Rob Cox of Refuge Ministries, as well as prayer led by several Stockton Area Pastors, including a special visit and prayer for Stockton's Local Government led by Mayor Edward Chavez.
The theme for this year is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield" and is based on the verse from Psalm 28:7 which states: "The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped."
Planning is already underway to celebrate the 2009 National Day of Prayer which will take place on May 7th, 2009
